My name is Sr. Elizabeth Reyes, MPF. I am a certified Montessori teacher and will be integrating some of my Montessori methods along with the required Diocesan Curriculum.
Since the beginning of this scholastic year, 2008-09, the Pre K-4 children have been engaged in a variety of academic activities.
RELIGION: The children have been made aware that they are special and that God loves each one of them in a special way. The bulletin board displays each child's picture I took on the first day of school, emphasizing this concept.
CIRCLE TIME: Children are taught the days of the week in English and Spanish

SUPERVISED ACTIVITY: The children are taught:
*correct use of scissors, pencil, crayons
*letter and number formation
*coloring

*working with letter A,E,L; sound of each letter/ words and objects beginning with letters A, E, L
INDEPENDENT ACTIVITY: The children work at different stations in the classroom which include:
*numbers
*geometry (solids and plain figures)
*bead stringing
*tracing
*arranging and grouping numbers from 1- 10
SPANISH: *days of week
*colors
*numbers
FREE PLAY: indoor/outdoor recess
