Pastor

I am honored to be able to say that I am the pastor of St. Peter/St. Francis School. First and foremost our school is the proud collaboration of two parish communities working together to provide Catholic education to the city of Torrington. We are also the heirs to the former schools of Sacred Heart and St. Mary Parishes. Four parishes, four schools now remembered, honored and celebrated in our wonderful endeavor.

Our principal Mrs. Jo-Anne Gauger is herself part of a double legacy. She is a graduate of St. Peter School, a former teacher at St. Peter and a former teacher at St. Francis School. As principal of St. Peter/ St. Francis School she stands as the leader of our Catholic education opportunity here in Torrington.

Our school stands in the proud and happy tradition of the Fillipini educators, now beginning their fifty-first year of service to the school community. Their presence predates St. Peter School, they have been ministering in St. Peter Parish for most of our parish history. Sister Elizabeth Reyes stands in the long line of Fillipini sisters who have done so much for our community. Though it has been many years for a Mercy sister to be on our staff, our school also stands in the Mercy tradition. The Mercies came to our city in the late nineteenth century and their legacy of education and inspiration continues in our community.

Wonderful tradition yields a possibility for a wonderful future. I am so happy that you are part of our present, please help us be part of our future.

Thank you for all you do for our school.

Father Tiano
Pastor
